Colorado Springs shoot, kill man in residence after domestic violence call
Colorado Springs police shot and killed a man inside a home Saturday night after authorities alleged he raised his weapon at officers.
Police responded to a domestic violence call around 9:16 p.m. in the 4200 block of Sanders View, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Inside they found a woman with obvious injuries.
The man, who has not been identified, emerged from the house holding a weapon, police said. The man then raised the weapon toward officers, police said, at which point at least one officer shot him. He died at the scene.
The officers involved in the incident were placed on leave while the police shooting is investigated.
