Bullet That Killed Shireen Abu Akleh Handed to U.S.
The Palestinian Authority on Saturday gave U.S. officials the bullet that killed a well-known Palestinian-American journalist covering an Israeli military raid in the West Bank, a breakthrough that could help determine who fired the fatal shot.
Palestinian officials, the U.N., and several independent investigations concluded that Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by an Israeli soldier in May, but Israeli officials said it was impossible to pinpoint who fired the shot unless they could examine the bullet.
